EnTech Solutions and Northern Biogas LLC formed a joint venture to provide a sustainable energy future utilizing local ag in Middleton. The renewable natural gas facility uses biogas and generators to create energy. Cow manure from local farms is processed in three air-tight digester tanks. The tanks are heated to about 100 degrees — like a cow’s stomach. Microbes thrive in these conditions, and they consumer solids in the manure while releasing methane gas.
