Chevron Renewable Energy Group held a ground breaking ceremony on Tuesday, July 9 for a 10 acre solar array it is adding to its biodiesel plant in Mason City. Edgar Castro, the general manager for the plant that will be receiving the array said its purpose is to help reduce the company's carbon foot print when producing biodiesel.

Faith Technologies Incorporated (FTI), a national leader in engineering, construction, manufacturing and clean energy, was recognized with a Sustainability Award by the Rockwell Automation PartnerNetwork. Rockwell Automation is the world’s largest company dedicated to industrial automation and digital transformation. FTI applied Rockwell Automation technologies at a digester facility in Dane County, Wisconsin. The manure from more than 4,000 cows is collectively processed to produce renewable natural gas (RNG). The biogas is captured and further processed into RNG to offset the use of fossil fuels. The RNG is then injected into the pipeline near Madison, Wisconsin, where it provides clean-burning vehicle fuel, reducing emissions by more than 13,500 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year.
