Off-Grid Facility Highlights FTI’s Distributed Energy Technologies

Menasha, Wis. – Faith Technologies Incorporated (FTI) a national leader in engineering, construction, manufacturing and clean energy, has opened Lakeside Vision Center, a 19,000-square-foot technology center which operates entirely on renewable energy.

FTI Lakeside Vision CenterThe off-grid facility, located in Northeast Wisconsin on the east shore of Lake Winnebago, is powered by clean energy Xcape™ and DCentrIQ™ microgrids which consist of ground-mount and roof-top solar, battery storage, a natural gas generator and DCentrIQ power controls. The area around Lakeside is at the end of a utility power line where power has historically been unreliable, which was a factor behind this development.

Lakeside Vision Center features meeting and lodging space that is designed similar to a town building, demonstrating how a municipal building can be powered with renewable energy. An interactive experience area demonstrates the technologies involved with microgrids, electric vehicle (EV) and eMobility charging solutions for large fleet vehicles such as fire trucks, digital power solutions and pre-manufactured mobile electrical rooms. The facility is part of an overall 40-acre development with long-term plans to include an off-grid residential community.

“In our 50th anniversary year, FTI is proud to look back at what we’ve done, but we’re even more excited about what our past success will contribute to the next 50 years,” said Mike Jansen, CEO and chairman of the board. “We know that resilient, renewable energy is critical to our environment, and we’re committed to providing valued energy solutions for our customers and partners.”
